Van She - Kelly (Lifelike Remix)

I remember when I first heard Van She's signature tune, Kelly. I was totally stoked (pardon my Australianism). Now, 2 years on, French producer Lifelike has set about remixing Kelly, in light of the song's update for the release of the band's debut album, V. The result is, well, a pretty boring re-work. See what you think. I'm kind of disappointed.

i thought the original was just ok, but had a lot of potential for a great remix. unfortunately (and surprisingly), none of these remix masters improved upon it very much. the song must be cursed because each of them usually knock it out of the park every time.

Totally agree with the above comment. The original is so cruisy and chilled out, you would think that at least one of the producers remixing it would have taken it to another level. Lifelike and Fred Falke have a certain gold touch when it comes to remixes, but don't seem to pull it off here... maybe there was a certain lack of inspiration from the original to take it to that next level... I thought Van She would blow up this year but i think there brand of electro pop might not take them anywhere the likes of the Presets and Cut Copy are... I've seen them at least 3 times and there performance don't going anywhere... well thats my opinion...

Have always totally loved the Braxe remix.

Being honest, I was a bit disappointed with the Van She album. I think I maybe listened to it once and haven't really returned to it. Bit of a damp squibb really. They just haven't lived up to the hype. And their Van She Tech stuff has really gone down the pan.

Check the Cut Copy Remix, it beats out the original and the other remixes I reckon.

I like the remix, but it's not incredible. I have a feeling the Shinichi Osawa remix will be the pick of the pack though:

Certainly takes it to another level.

:( to you not enjoying the album.

I completely disagree with all of you. I am in love with this remix, it wreaks of infatuation and french touch energy. It's subtle, but poignant.

I'm not quite sure how else I'd want this remixed, the way it accelerates lightly at about 45 seconds is amazing.

It's no banger, but I love it.
